In the historic city of Córdoba, Argentina, a successful workshop brought together researchers from renowned institutions (including AWI, IAA, CADIC, IDEA, BAS, etc.), as part of the multidisciplinary COASTCARB project. The event centered on the critical study of blue carbon in Antarctica, a region vital to understanding global carbon dynamics. Over several days, participants worked together to share insights, expand their knowledge, and generate innovative approaches, highlighting the pressing need to safeguard this fragile ecosystem.

One of the workshop’s key goals was advancing the writing of scientific articles that highlight the importance of standardized methodologies in studying carbon sequestration in Antarctica. Researchers worked tirelessly to address these pressing challenges, recognizing that unified approaches are vital for understanding and preserving one of the planet’s last untouched frontiers.

In addition, part of the activities centered on planning how to continue with these fruitful international collaborations through applying to new and novel scientific projects in the near future. The collaborative spirit and exchange of expertise showcased the power of international teamwork in tackling complex environmental issues.
