I am interested in theoretical ecology, ecological networks, global forest dynamics, and spatial dynamic models, from an complex systems point of view. I studied the impact of changing the intensity of competitive interactions on the biodiversity of communities, the spatial structure of attached microalgal communities, the network structure of Antarctic food-webs, early warnings of fragmentation in global forest, and lately individual based network models of COVID19 epidemics.
Develop models for coastal fjords and estuaries of the West Antarctic Peninsula and Southern Patagonia, considering different ecosystem processes and integrating the responses of species from the individual to the ecosystem scale. This includes the a carbon flux /carbon budget model, comparisons of networks of species interactions and how the responses of species to climate change can affect ecosystem processes.
