My Research Interests

What drives my research are the new and different insights and findings in marine animal communities that we gain with integrated approaches using traditional methods and new molecular genetic techniques. Here, I would like to contribute with my integrated research on the diversity, phylogeny and ecology of marine animals.

My Objectives in CoastCarb

In CoastCarb, the Focus Group is interested in spatial and temporal patterns of marine metazoan communities using integrated taxonomic approaches. In WP3 we test and aim to standardize molecular multispecies identification methods to allow for a reliable and cost efficient analysis of metazoan communities in coastal areas. We are happy to realize this in this international collaboration with many supports from South American collaborators and institutions.
