My Research Interests

My research interests are focused on how environmental change affects the carbon and nutrient cycles, and more specifically their interaction with benthic communities. We do this by combining in situ measurements of benthic carbon and nutrient cycling with community analyses.

My Objectives in CoastCarb

Together with Irene Schloss (CADIC), I am leading WP4 on Ecosystem Change and Carbon storage in South Patagonia and West Antarctic Peninsula regions. We are organizing workshops (both virtual and physical) and following up on project deliverables to assess the export of the primary produced material to the benthos, the contribution of benthic macroalgae to coastal carbon budgets and quantify changes in blue carbon storage (macroalgae and benthic invertebrates).
