By Dr Kerstin Jerosch (PI CoastCarb & SIGMA expeditions)
We experienced two productive days on reviewing and discussing preliminary results (hydrography, remote sensing, photo quadrats, video transects, UVP, initial analysis of zooplankton communities), identifying links and gaps with invited guests, defining next steps and responsibilities, and joint publications and perspectives for future collaborations.
All CoastCarb Beagle Channel explorers were able to participate in person: Kerstin Jerosch, Grit Steinhöfel, Clarissa Vock (AWI, team remote sensing, phytoplankton, sediments and geochemistry), Piotr Bałazy, Maria Włodarska-Kowalczuk (IO PAN, team diving, benthic communities), Maria Bagur (CONICET-CADIC, team diving, benthic communities), Katarzyna Błachowiak-Samołyk and Rafał Boehnke (IO PAN, team particles and zooplankton communities). Sadly, our associate Mariano Rodriguez (UNTDF, team diving, benthic communities) was only able to join online, as well as Jürgen Laudien, Marie Kaufmann (AWI), Ricardo Giesecke, Humberto González Estay (UACh-IDEAL). Many other CoastCarbers joint the meeting in presence: Martin L. Castro (CONICET), Eduardo Jelic (CONICET), Javier Babbonnex (UACh-IDEAL), Claudio Richter, Friederike Weith, Juliane Stark, Hendrik Pehlke, Bernd Krock, Diego Filún, Alexandra Kraberg, Astrid Cornils (AWI).
